PYG track, the easy part.
A lot of fresh snow had fallen.

Beyond the zigzags, snow was deep and the gradient severe. Due to the number of people on the slopes the snow was beginning to turn icy and crampons were recommended on the steps. I has crampons in my bag but managed without.

Final thoughts. What an amazing day out in the snow with views to match.
I wore a Rab powerstretch as a base layer and only my sherpa as a shell. No need for mid layer as that combination was plenty warm for today's conditions. On my legs I had on CCC synthetic leggings with TOG waterproof trousers. Hands were merino wool liner with TOG waterproof gloves.
